The inspiration to create Gabanzo came from the love of travel to faraway lands and the beautiful things that I found on my journeys.
Friendships were formed with many creative artisans whose skills and
knowledge had been handed down through generations, along with their
stories and spiritual meanings.
My travels first took me to the high deserts of the south west USA ...
where I found the beautiful turquoise stone jewellery created by the
Native American Indian people - I fell in love with the desert colours,
the architecture and of course turquoise with its varying shades of
blues and greens.
My childhood dream was always to experience Mexico with its exotic,
brilliant colours, scrumptious food and lively music and of course
finally travelling there I discovered the high quality silver mined in
the Mexican hillside towns.
I felt so fortunate to have had travelled and got to know some amazing
artisans whose love and dedication reflected in their superb
craftmanship, that I wanted to share the beauty with others who hadn't
witnessed what I had, so I set out hunting and gathering and an exciting
boutique called Gabanzo was born. |
